Hey guys, I have an issue that has me stumped, and im sure its something I am overlooking. I just bought joes plans and plan on starting the build anyday now. I currently have a 4x4 that is a variasion of patricks blacktoe cnc from buildyourcnc.com. I first had his 4x8 that uses roller chain and decided it was too big so I cut it down to a 4x4 and installed lead screws. I changed all my settings in motor tuning and the motors run and move perfectly in the tuning box. Once I save and exit I can not get the motors to turn at all. They will click and thats it. My z- axis has always been lead screws and it wont even work outside of the tuning setup box. Can anyone think of what may be going on there? I would like to get it up and going, so I can make joes hybrid!! Thanks again for the help |

| What screws are you using, and what are your motor tuning settings? Have you run drivertest.exe in the Mach3 folder? You should see a smooth flat line with little or no spikes.

| im using Acme threaded rod 1/2" 10 5 start, (2tpi). My drivers are at 1/16 microstepping and my motor settings are 6400 steps, 117 vel, 3 accel. Its weird because that is what my z axis was before I changed from roller chain to lead screws and it worked fine. My roller chain setting for my y axis is 711.2, 1000, 30. that also was working perfect. So, I am not sure what the issue is?? |

| So, you had the same motors, drives, and PC working, and it stopped working when you changed the motor tuning? If so, perhaps a re-install of Mch3 may be needed.

| Yes, I had the same drivers, board and pc. Basically the only thing I changed was my x-axis drive system. It was roller chain and I had issues with it, so I put the leadscrews on it. I then changed my motor tuning settings and the machine will move when I am in the motor tuning setup box. Once I save and exit and try to jog the machine nothing happens other then hearing the motors click when you push one of the hotkeys. |

| Try re-setting the hotkeys. Config Hotkeys.

| ok, just tried re-setting hotkeys to something different and still nothing. All that happens when you try to jog is you here the motors click. I am really confused.. It seems like it would be an issue with the motor tuning, but they are same settings I had at one point. Plus my motors run nice in motor tuning when I test out each axis.. |

| I think you may be in the wrong jog mode. hit the tab key, and make sure it's in continuous mode, and be sure to change the feedrate to higher than the default of 6.
