How do I adjust drivers to max performance?

I´m using the cnc_box 3977 drivers on my router but the stepper motors will not run very fast.

I understand there is 3 options for adjustments. The current, the attenuation (slow, mixed or fast decay) and the micro steps which I now have set to 1/8.

Which of these will be the best move to adjust??
