i have done some rough sketch for X/Z axis assembly and simply run out of ideas how to make efficient and simple screw nut ... should it work fine if it's just simple cylinder secured with couple screws which would allow elimination of backlash ? ... any ideas are welcome ![]() and another question is about slides (long red stuff logical choice is bronze, but i'm reconsidering plastic, delrin, teflon or similar ... is there a particular reason why go for one and not the other option ?last but not least, my flawless rendering ![]() |

| Yous should check out these pictures as they are very similar to the design you are going after. http://img21.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=41439876.jpg Are you looking for an anti backlash nut? If you are, you should spend some money and just buy some instead of trying to make something. They are cheap enough. I'd recommend Roton. http://www.roton.com/ |

| this might be the elegant way to go ... two of those on opposite sides ... hmm ![]() and what is benefit between using plastic or bronze for bushings ? except obvious one, plastic is much lighter and in the end almost three times cheaper. has anyone tried both perhaps ? |
