I have a 500 CFM dust collector I got from Menards and I'm wondering if the filter bag is just not a good quality or if this is normal but when it is running and sucking up dust if you touch or poke the bag very fine dust will go up into the air im not sure if it can filter small enough or if that small amount is normal. Should I buy a new bag or something, any help? |

| Cheaper dust collectors can let a lot of fine dust through them. The best bags can filter down to 1 micron. By letting the dust build up in the bag, it'll actually start to filter more fine dust. You may be able to by a better bag, but they are not cheap. You may also be able to modify the collector to use a cartridge filter, but those are even more expensive. http://www.wynnenv.com/35A_series_cartridge_kit.htm
