Okay so, to explain where I am. I bought a 3 axis gecko 540 package from kelinginc.net. Came with everything. I used this wiring diagram http://www.kelinginc.net/G540WD.pdf. Wired everything together (I beleive correctly). When I was trying to tune them on Mach 3 apparently they are suppost to spin as I am adjusting them, and they did not. So whats happening is when I plug the power supply in the motors pulse and tighten up, and cannot be spun freely anymore. G540 lights up green with power with charge pump off, and Estop not pressed. I had the motors on trying to get Mach 3 to spin them for about 30 minutes, and they got fairly warm (Maybe this is normal?). I was following the mach 3 tutorial supplied by kelinginc on their website, and I think i set mach 3 up corretly as well. So I am not really sure where I went wrong. Any ideas? |

| Droider, Did you copy the G540B.xml file to your C:\Mach3 directory? The motors are working correctly, they should lock up when the G540 is powered up. Jeff...

| Are you using the up and down arrows in the motor tuning screen?

| THEY SPIN! Butt... The Y motor, doesnt spin as fast as the others, and when I make it spin forward it messes up badly. Spins fine for 3-4 seconds then sounds like its grinding and spins backwards then forwards then backwards then forwards etc really fast. Bad wiring there? |

| You can try switching the X motor to the Y axis on the G540 and see if the problem goes away. Make sure you turn the power off before switching the motor. Jeff...

| Having a problem with my E-Stop. When I press it the motors stop, and the G540 goes into fault. But mach 3 doesnt notice and continues to make the move. I have the E-Stop set in the input signals to.. Enabled On. Port # 1. Pin #13. Active Low On. Emulated off. I think the problem has to do with the active low being on. But I cannot seem to reset mach 3 any other way. |
