building my CNC machine now | | im back, after a trip to europe, and losing literally everything i owned and all my money, im back, i have a new computer to begin my CNC designs again, and i now have ALL the money i need to build this router... im going to probably modify one of the pre-made designs available, modified to the travel i need and to use angle steel rails...
so structure aside, im looking at using three nema-23 270oz-in, 4 wire bipolar electric motors, a 4 axis CNC controller which will have an LPT interface.. an expresscard 34 LPT expansion card for my 10.2 inch lenovo netbook which will now be the computer controlling this machine from now on... (ill design the shapes, and write the CAM file on my new desktop, then transfer via wifi the CAM file to the netbook to run the CNC machine)
ill be using leadscrews, and angle iron / ball bearing rails
im wondering though what i should be looking for in a power supply, and what i can use for the router motor? id like atleast 2hp, do i really need to gut a motor out of a router or are there certain characteristics key to making a great spindle motor i could possibly find surplus? |
