rlwoodjr is on a distinguished road
2 axis for dads lathe

This one did not take near as long. Dad has a small wood lathe and wanted to try a cnc with it

rlwoodjr is on a distinguished road

Motors are Nema 34 with 200 ounce/inches of holding torque. Acme 5/8-8TPI. Travel is 15" in the Z and 4.5" in the X

rlwoodjr is on a distinguished road

Controller is a HobbyCNC 4 axis. I do like this board. I have had good experience with them. (I have 5 of these). He will only need 2 axis so he will have some spares. The case is a Dell extension box. There is also a rely to turn on and off the spindle.

Couple more pictures. Next I am going to make a 3 axis router to sell....I think it will be small....around 12x10x3

Dads machines are going home.

Dad came up to get his machines. We have had fun doing some test parts, but they are headed for Texas.

We made a rotating stand for the computer that works pretty neat.
