Hi all, I need some advice for routing/cutting mdf, the problem I have is the the dust which has been cut does not get removed from the cutting site so after a few passes the cutter is recutting the dust and is over-heating, I've even had it smoking ![]() So here is whats happening, Am trying to cut out a shape from a piece of 18mm mdf, am using a 6mm 3flute sprial cutter, am taking 3mm cuts, feed rate is slow due to using 8mm threaded bar 1.25mm thread pitch. So way doesn't the dust get ejected from the cut trench? What is anyone else using? Rob |

| You'll need to blow air into the cut to remove the chips. Also, switch to a single flute cutter. 3 flutes are for very high feedrates.
