I've started building my first CNC router using John's Pipe Dream Plans. Anyone else done this recently. I've finished the rails and the trolley. I'm having a hardtime getting the floating nuts right. Any suggestions on how much side to side and up and down the floating nut should have and what do you do to try to obtain consistencey form one floating nut to the other. Any other words of wisdom are appreciated. There is an amazing amount of information in this group. Thank you, Chris |

| The floating nut idea I avoided and lined my axis and nut up as best as you can but running the machine all the way to one side lining up, run it all the way to the other and repeat the process. When you are finished the floating nut should not be needed. |
