Z axis ?

Sorry to bug you guys again.
The home switch on the Z-axis should it be mounted at the top of the axis ie: when the axis is all the way up or at the bottom? I mounted mine at the top and called that 0 for the z-axis.
Something is not right as when I use the auto-zero probe the axis starts moving up towards home, not towards the plate on the table surface.

Buy me a Beer?

That is the usual way to zero the Z.
Do you have a tool length offset entered for the probe maybe?
Al.

I followed the instructions here.
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56079
Maybe I did not follow them correctly or I have a setting wrong.
My plate offset is 0
I decided to see what it was going to do after moving the Z axis up.
It moved the axis up about 2 inches (did not measure) then almost sent the bit crashing into the table at rapid speed.
I'm thinking maybe the default script is set to mm and not inches.

It seems there is an updated script that I missed. I will give it a try tonight. I really like the MachBlue screen set.

Thanks

Well acording to the Mach3 video tutorial I do have my Z-axis setup wrong!
The home switch at the top is correct and its setting of 0 is correct but I'm supposed to set a -# as the Soft-min and 0 as the soft-max.
I setup my Z-axis the same as my X/Y soft-min is 0 and soft-max is the total travel positive number.
No wonder the script does not work.

Yes, because zero is at the top, and moving down is in the negative direction, 0 is the max.
