How do I connect 2 steppers to drive the Y axis (using 2 ballscrews for each steppers on single Y axis) to the BOB (does it mean I will have to use 2 output pin? or 1 pin connect to 2 stepper driver?) and also Mach3 config? |

| Wire up the second Y motor as the A axis. Then tell Mach 3 to slave the A Axis to the y axis. I forget what preference window I saw the feature in but it is there. On your first jog, GO SLOW! Just in case one of the axis motors is spinning the wrong way! |

| I would recommend disconnecting the couplers from the motor shafts long enough to verify which direction the motors turn, correct it if one runs opposite of the other, then reconnect the couplers to the motor shafts. Still, go very slow when starting the first jog. Once you know it will run without binding over the first full travel jog, then incrementally increase the jog speed until you trust it to run properly. Installing the cable pulley system will help prevent racking of the gantry and causing serious hardware damage if one motor starts missing pulses. CarveOne

| Thanks for the info guys! But parallel port only have 12 inputs on 3 axis I will have to use 8 inputs and that means only 4 more remains enough to build the 4th axis but how about those people with 6th axis using dual Y axis screw n motors? I plan to build my machine like mechmate ones I just need some thinking to do on how to mount the Z axis on the X axis with a ballscrew. (right now I'm retro fitting my RF mill going CNC). |
