OK, I have 3 brushed MAE Servo motors with the following Specification and my boggle is determining the size of the power supply to buy\build ? >Continuous Stall Current = 11.7 Amps. >Maximun Pulse Current = 48.9 Amps. >Maximum Terminal Voltage 60.0 VDC So should I be sourcing a 60 Volt, 50 Amp. Power Supply or ??? Any help much appreciated |

| That is probably overkill. You'll probably find that your motors don't pull anywhere near the max stall current during normal operation, and you certainly won't have all three axiis loaded like that at a given time. I don't know the specifics of your machine or the work you will be doing, but I'd probably go with a 20A supply, and maybe leave some room in your panel for a second supply if you decide to really work the motors / add more axiis. Just my .02, and as my name implies, you might get a better answer from one of the old salts here. |

| MatttheNoob: Thanks very much for your direction on this...I kind of thought thhat this was the case, as I have seen similar drive\PSU pairred up for sale and the PSU was always lower than the motors spec. I have a handle on a 45Volt 40Amp PSU.....Do you think this would hurt anything ? Cheers BallBearing |

| RPM is proportional to voltage, so with a 45V supply you'll get about 75% of the motors rated rpm.
