I know this might wrong place for this, but. I have in my possession, two pair, of some very hardly used roller blades. I want to remove the bearings from the rubber wheels and I don't have an arbor press. Can anyone suggest a way to remove them?. There are two on each axle, so I can get up to 32 of these little beauties! |

I've taken bearings out using the largest punch I can fit through the center- gently tap your way around till they come out. They shouldn't be in there horribly tight anyway. Once you get one out, find a socket with a nearly the same outer diamter as the bearing in tap it out gently. Rollerblades and skateboard bearings are usually the same size- you could check with a neighborhood kid and see if he has a bearing tool. It's just a stepped cylinder that fits in the middle. Sometimes you can just stick it in and wiggle it sideways a bit. Hope that helps- don't go too ape on them with anything metal or you can foul up your treasures! ktow |
