Hi; At work, somebody gave me a few Slo-Syn steppers, rated from 80 oz-in to 300 oz-in, all Nema 34 size. I also have some bipolar motors, 425oz-in, and some of Dan Mauch's old driver boards. If the drivers don't work better than when I tested them years ago, by the time I build my router, I may just get Mariss' drivers. In fairness to Dan Mauch (Camtronics???) I may have wired my motors with faulty shielding, either adding or losing steps. However, I'm curious if Slo-Syn motors are substantially different compared to bipolar. Or should I essentially just pitch them? Are the drivers different than bipolar drivers? Any knowledge? Thanks, Tom. |
