Hello, I have been given the task of getting a large 3 axis CNC router up and running. I'm taking it one step at a time hoping to learn along the way. I understand the software chain involved and how to operate via this - but the hardware is all new to me. I have been given a small 2 axis bed to test on before going for the big one. It has 2 kollmorgen gold line XT motors on it. With no cabling. I have a card on it's way from the guy i'm trying to get this running for. I beleave he has several gallil cards. But my first hurdle is connecting the motors to the card. Looking around online i'm a bit overwhelmed. Can anyone point me towards some cableing that will allow me to "break out" of the motor and into a card?? Any help or pointers greatfully recieved. regards, Tom |

| If it is a Galil card, it depends on the model as to what type of break out interface you will need. The advantage to some of the older legacy cards is it can be done with simple IDC (ribbon) to terminal strip converters. Find out the Galil model #. Also what size motors? And do you have the drives? Al.

| With luck he's dropping off a load of parts tonight - cards and some leads also. So I will take a look at what I have and probabily post up more specifically where i'm lost when I have taken a better look at it all. Thanks for the response. |
