Holding Spoil board to Granite

I'm trying to figure a way to hold a spoil board to granite. Because the way the machine is designed there is nothing in the middle to support just a spoil board so I figured if I put a peice of granite at the bottom it would be nice and flat with no flex in the middle. I have 2 ideas so far, one would be to buy the special drill and drill a couple of holes through the granite and bolt the board to it and the other idea was to use carpet tape.

I figure I would ask the billiarnt minds on this forum what they thought.

Try spraying 3M77 spray adhesive on the underside of a small piece of spoil board and wave it around in the air for 30 to 45 seconds to dry it. (Do not spray the granite.) It will be very tacky. Press it down firmly onto the granite. After an hour or so, see how much force is required to pry it off of the granite. It should release cleanly from the granite but the spoil board will still have all of the adhesive on it. None should be left on the granite. It should require some effort to pry it up. 3M77 will make the spoil board act something similar to a Post-it note.

For the full size spoil board you can apply spots of 3M77 instead of spraying the entire surface.

You can remove any adhesive that does stay on the granite with PrepSol or similar solvent.

Since you'll be replacing it over and over during the life of the machine, I'd drill the holes.

There is no doubt it would be the fastest way to replace the waste board. Nylon screws or hex head nylon bolts to hold it in place and flat would not harm the cutter if it got in the way of the cutter.

With a granite base, exceptional care must be taken to not allow the cutter to drill into the granite unless the cutter is diamond tipped.

I'd make the spoilboard two layers thick and counterbore the bolts.

Thank you for all the great ideas. I totally forgot about 3m77. I went ahead and used the 3m77 spray to combine the mdf spoil board to the granite. I also surfaced the board and I'm now only getting .002 difference total from corner to middle to corner.

I do plan, when I have some extra cash, to buy a diamond drill and drill a couple holes through the granite. But for now the 3m77 will work great.
