| I have been playing around with a cable carrier and I thought I'd post my cadwork. I happened across this thread DIY cable carriers and thought I'd post mine... If you cut these parts I'd love to see them! I included the dxf and a stp file of the carrier.. I also included my 3D model of my Bosch Router. Anyone have a 3D model of the Bosch Colt? | have you considered the possibility of a tighter bend radius, or fold backward, is it possible? i only ask because on a rapid if it has to change the z height the thing could be broken. maybe less wide and tighter would be stronger in my case any way good work, i like it. |

| another idea just sprung to mind. i've always liked doweling as an apropriate method of stand-off. so instead of machining the joints top and bottom doweling could replace it and offer a tighter bend radius maybe even stronger |

I really think that the utility for me is that it doesn't bend backwards. On my setup, I would probably use two carriers, one on the X and one on the Y. Since these two axes move only in one direction, what the Z does has no effect on the carrier. The turn is 9.5" tall with 30 degree bends. I imagine this geometry could easily be scaled. I hope you work out your dowel detail and post the results!! |
