I can get XL size rubber belts locally fairly cheaply. However Im wondering if this a good timing belt material to use. I need something that can last at least 3-5 years. The pulley is used to driver a linear rail approx (500mm long) left and right. The rail has a load of approx 22-30 pounds on it. The pulleys are small 15 teeth XL pulleys. Will rubber degrade over time causing it to break? is polyurethane (PU) material better to use? Will rubber stretch more over time than other materials? i really cant find much info on this? can someone please show me the light. What would you experts reccomend for my application. thanks you |
