Stepper motor question

Hi there to all.
For my graduation diploma i want to make my own desktop milling machine.But i have some troubles finding the right components.I found two stepper motors made by Vexta,fully functional,but i don't know is they fit to my microcontollers.They have 5 wires, dc 2 A,0.45 ohm.I don't know if they are suitable for my mini mill.I am willing to make some tests on trajectory planning,by implementing new c funtions in EMC2 module.The microcontrollers i want to buy,are suitable for 4,6 or 8 wires.How or what should i do? The third motor is a StepSin motor with 6 wires.Could be any problems?

Are the motors 5 phase? Its more difficult to locate 5 phase drivers.

The Hobbycnc kit which includes motors maybe the thing for you.

I think you would be better off with a standard bipolar nema 23 or 34 motor of known torque and inductance. How much torque do you need? check out Keling for motors drives etc.

If you were to provide the length of travel on x & y, expected IPM, the diameter and pitch/lead of the screws and any reductions, I'd be happy to tell you what size motor you'd need and offer some recommendations.

Matt

IPM = Inches per minute

How fast do you expect the CNC to move during machining?
