Been reading this forum for a while before coming up with this. I want it for cutting aluminium and small sections of steel (slow cut rates are fine for this though).

The table measurements are 700mm x 700mm. Am using 12x3 trapezoidal single start spindles and these rails and carriages:

Have tried to keep as many parts stock items, such as shaft supports etc. from this site:

It will be made from aluminium to keep weight down with the square bar being 30mm x 30mm retrofit frame:

For the electronics I was going with the hobbycnc pro driver board and 305oz-in 4.2V 3A stepper motors

Whats peoples thoughts on this setup and any recomendations for a router. Am tempted by the Kress 530 / 800 / 1050 range but not sure if the spindle speed should be going slower for some of the metal work. Once I decide on the router I can finish off the z axis
