I'm going through the good old 9 foot ball screw scenario and its a bit too expensive when you include the cost of machined ends preloaded fixed ends. Now I am looking for some accurate racks. I am hoping to spend no more than a $1000 on both rack and pinion gears for x and y axis (4x8 machine). Hi, does anyone actually know what the accuracy of the gear rack they are purchasing is? I understand gear rack accuracy ratings are not the same as lead screws and are also harder to test but I believe the rack accuracy is rated by its pitch Deviation, which is the difference between the theoretical rack length and its actual length. The only company I have scene actually give the accuracy of their rack is Atlanta drive systems. The offer from low accuracy to precision ground stuff but unfortunately they don't have prices or even a quote request option. Anyone have any data on racks? |
