Many power supplies offered on internet have a lot of components inside. Is that really neccesary in order to run steppers or will it be sufficient to make one only with a trafo + rectifier diodes and a large capasitor? |

| If your referring to switching supplies, they are not required over the more rugged linear supply, Transformer, Bridge rectifier, Capacitor. There is a ebay seller AnTek user name Johnango that sells just toroidal transformer or complete supply. Al.
