How sturdy should your router be for routing hard wood? If you grab the side of your router is slight movement acceptable?  |

| No. No movement is acceptable. Any movement will force you to take extremely light cuts. Let me rephrase that. If you can see it move, than it's probably too much. Just about anything will move a few thousandths. It also depends on how hard you're pushing or pulling it.
