thanks Paul,
I was given the hoffman encloseure from work...I removed the process that came installed in it and installed directly into the machine. my boss said to get rid of it so I'm like...uh sure ...ok. I wanted everything to be self contained so I can wheel it inside out of bad weather if need to. I'm testing the prox's while I'm waiting for windows to install...so far everything works like it's suposed to. can't wait to test those steppers......within the hour...if it doesn't go up in smoke before then.

Well I got Mach 2 loaded and I went through the setup....but for some reason output 4 which drives the DC power contactor will not come on when I click RESET. I went to Bob Cambells web site so I could download the xml setup file he has but my computer will only save it as a html file and not a xml file. ...I right clicked it and saved it but it only comes up with html....i think I need to install mach 2 on this computer first and then go there and save it to get the file type into the system. I'll keep ya updated.

Saving a file as .html

Saving the file as a .html is a windows issue. I've seen it before. It may have to do with too many Internet temp files on your system. If you're using explorer go to Tools/Internet Options and then click the button Delete Files.
If that doesn't help go to Microsoft and search for save as .html

This problem also affects saving .jpg pictures that only want to save as .bmp.

XML saving

Right click on the link to the file and select Save Target As.

When the Save As dialog opens change the dropdown list at the bottom Save as type: from HTML Document to All Files.

Change the file name from filename.htm to filename.xml.

Hope this helps!

(My first post plus I gave a helping hand, woohoo!)
