Hey, I am looking for some advice on motor size and whether to use stepper motor or servo. I have read the FAQ on the different types but wanted a recomendation from those of you who have already built and used different types and your expeirences. I have worked out my layout as far as mechanicals, but have a little bit of a learning curve as far as the motors and electronics are concerned. My tenative table layout will be 4' x 8' with an estamated gantry weight of 50-60 lbs. I am going to try and cut weight as I can. If someone can refer me to some site with info that would be great. I want to know: what size motors to get. What type of control system. What type of motor to use, stepper or servo. Thanks |
