I'm new to CNC and just about have my machine ready to start making some wood chips. I've been looking at the Amana In-Groove Engraving system. It comes with either a 1/2" or 1/4" main shank and uses interchangeable solid carbide knife inserts. The inserts are only about $20, which is comparable in price or better than most decent bits. Plus.....one thing that caught my eye was that when you change the inserts, the dimensions of the tool do not change. They all mount the same way and are exactly the same length, which seems to make sense that the cuts would be more 'repeatable' going from one tool to the other. Anyone using this system? And any negative or positive comments. I'm new so I'm looking for advice and recommendations. |
