Servo tuning & Acceleration | | On my 4x8 steel frame R&P machine, I'm getting some "bounce" for lack of a better word, on cut path reversals, (most noticeable on inside corners, and parallel sweeps.) Usually looks like an overshoot of 0.050 in the corner.
Any input would be much appreciated.
I'm wondering if I have my acceleration set too high. It rapids at 1000ipm (it will do 2000+ but I don't see the need.) I've messed with the accel down to about 100ipm. I cut 3/4 mdf in one pass at 75-120ipm, so I'm thinking that I need to go lower with the accel so it slows down before the reversal. (am I off base?)
Also
Not sure that I have the servo drives (Geckos) tuned all that great. (Using the biggest Kelling Servos) I tuned them by feel. I've got a scope, but did not have much luck getting the waveforms specified in the Gecko documentation. Additionally, what signal source should be used to do the scope tuning. Any links to a more detailed tuning guide using a scope??
