i'm building a 4x4 router. i purchased 2 acme 48" screws/nuts, but now i like the look of rack and pinion on the y axis. would it work to have the screws on the x axis, rack and pinion on the Y axis, and a screw on the z axis? will they all calibrate themselves in the software? (mach 3, and vcarve pro) |

| Yes Mach3 will let you run different pulses per inch, but it won't calibrate it's self. You need to enter the pulses per inch in Mach3.

| The software doesn't normally care what method of gearing you are using. Rack and pinion often requires gearing due to the larger distance per rev when used without reduction. Al.
