| Got it going last weekend and am very happy. Tuned everything yesterday. Man those servos have a tons of resolution. I had to run my X axis at 250:1 (every step I tell the servo drive it goes 250) steps so that EMC could keep up with counts. The resolution on that motor is 262144 counts per rev (1024 x 256 interpolated) and I am going through a 5:1 reduction. So I end up with just over 5000 steps per turn which is more then enough (about 1600 steps per inch with my 1inch gear). I may try shutting the interpolation off but I thought I would see how it goes incase I want more resolution later. So now I need some input as to how to make the bed. I see some people use 3/4 MFD. I am thinking about doing that but I am not sure how to frame it in? Should I run a bunch of crossers then set the board on top and counter sink bolt it to the crossers? Any ideas on what worked best for you? |
