| You can wire them all to one pin, but then you must home each axis individually, as Mach3 will not know which switch is being triggered. If they are wired individually, you can home all axis at the same time, and troubleshooting would probably be much easier.

| Hi Ger, Thanks for the info. I had thought that Mach 3 would know which switch is the home switch by direction of travel when ordered home. Al |

| All axis are wires serial using one pin and ground of the BOB. When I hit Ref All the Z homes first, then the X then the Y. The direction it goes Home is defined in the Mach3 setup. You would not want them to home all at once because the Z axis would probaly hit something by the X and Y movement. Ger walked me through setting up my Home, Limit and Soft switches, it was trying but it worked. Good Luck |

| And Mach doesn't know which switch is Home by the direction it's going. If, for instance, you had a home and limit switches wired to the same pin, Mach would think either switch was the Home switch. It's unlikely that you'd be on the wrong side of the limit, but just trying to explain what I'm taking about. Make sense?

| I like to wire my homes/limits as on this diagram. You have to right click and rotate it: Wiring Diagram for Generic Breakout board, home and Limit Switches, Generic Drives. CR. |

| If you use the standard homing script that Mach uses the you are in effect homing one axis at a time sequentially. So all home switches on one pin will work OK. Whole other thing if you want to use "RefCombination" commands or if doing slaved axis homing. However if I could spare the inputs I would choose to have one per input. As Gerry says can be simpler to troubleshoot. Greg |

You probably saved my machine from me, LOL. I rechecked Mach 3 and sure enough, Homing switches use different pins. Al |
