| jalessi -- yes... that is what I meant. And I definitely don't feel bad or reject any comments/advices. The more, the better. You guys know a lot more than I and I thank you all for taking your time to answer my questions. Besides, one little correction on something that I've overlooked can save me a lot of trouble. I found this pretty good board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131340 Has LPT connection in the back, is that what I'm looking for? After talking to all of you, I think I will end up going with a 32bit OS. 1. I'll go with XP, which I know and is 100% compatible with everything I'll work on. 2. 32bit will be 100% compatible with everything I will work on. 3. It'll be cheaper. 4. Less hassle. I won't be able to go past 4GB, but oh well, that should be enough for the cheap workstation I'm building. -BK |

| Bkboggy, The AMD ASUS board should work. Since all of us here at our shop are caveman, we only use Intel based CPU's. If the AMD product does not work for you, most likely Newegg will exchange it. Double check with Newegg before finalizing your purchase. Jeff...

| Intel dual core CPU's have been far superior to AMD's for the last year or two. unless it's a lot cheaper than an Intel, I'd look at Intel. (I'm typing this on an Athlon X2, to let you know I'm not anti AMD. I buy what's fastest for the money at the time)

| jalessi -- Awesome. ger21 -- That is what I often hear. Only recent AMDs were able to catch up to Intel's power. However, when taking price per power comparasent, AMD is superior. This baby here is a great processor for the price of going to a restaraunt: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103300 -BK |
