I never thought this would happen to me, but while browsing at a local surplus shop I met a sexy little stepper motor. She was hanging out in a dark, dingy bin with some lesser motors, obvioulsy not in her league. Using my smoothest moves I picked her up and gave her the once over. Nice curves, long leads (6 of them!), and sporting a sexy designer label, maybe foreign. She seemed like she might fit my future plans nicely, and while I would never use the phrase "cheap date", she seemed inexpensive at $7.00. Her label seemed to indicate that she had quite an appetite, but who knows how much she'll put out... it could be that after I forked out my money, I might only get teased... She's a sexy model, Elwood/Gettys 23E-6146B, heres her bio: Name: Nema Age: 23 Height: 1.93 inches Weight: 20 oz Volts: 28 Amps: .21 Torque: 53 oz-in I know she's on the petite side, but if I set her up on the side, and only use her lightly, say for making PCBs on a small machine, I'd really like to keep her. My biggest concern isn't getting caught by my everyday motor...although she is sturdy, and would have no problem over-powering Nema. My biggest concern is that Nema's volts are 28. That seems like a lot compared to how much other motors require. I'm really stuck here, and looking for advice to help me decide on keeping the little motor, or looking for a model with a lot lower requirements for volts. Signed: Torn in Tampa P.S. I know how you guys are so I have attached a recent photo of Nema with some of her friends from work. For her privacy I wont point out which one is her. |
