Here are some I have on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MESE:IT They work very well with minimal backlash, I made them and used some for a year (not these, they're new) until I upgraded to 1/2"-4 4 start leadscrews. dumpster

Dumpster, I am interested in these. I am guessing that as long as you are not moving a load heavier than the strength of the spring, these look like they will work fine. How strong is the spring? Do they run fairly friction free? Colin

Hi Colin, These nuts have 2 or 3 threads adjustment, you screw the main part on, then add the spring then the back piece, depending on how much you compress the spring with the back piece you can catch different threads (hope this makes sense). The more you compress it the more load you can push... but the more friction also, the springs are pretty strong. I formed the leadnut threads for a VERY smooth fit on the acme rod and I was actually using only the front piece on my Y axis, with only .002 backlash. I wouldn't recommend these for very heavy loads as they are delrin and should be treated as such. I do recommend sanding and polishing the acme rod, preferrably on a lathe, regardless of which leadnuts you use to reduce wear. Tim
