Hi eloid,
Attached you'll find three photos of the electrical box for my small machine. Three G210's, 45V powersupply, 24V auxiallry powersupply, opto-isolators for limits and homeswitches and a F/V converter for the spindle VFD. There's more stuff in there than initially planned so it's a bit crowded - works good though so I rarely need to mess with it.

I've also attached a photo of my current project, it's a lot larger project and is still work in progress. 3 HP-UHU drives, 130V 4kVA powersupply with softstart and regenerative powerdump, 5.5kW VFD, C11 breakoutboard and Smoothstepper. I still have a few small things to do on this one before mounting it in the cabinet and closing the cable conduits.

Hi,
The system is quite complex with a PLC comunicating with Mach3, an encoder-interface between the encoders and SS so that the SS keeps track of position even during E-stop, soft-start, regenerative powerdump and so on. The schematic is over 20 pages at this time and I still haven't finished the home and limit switches...

How to wire the E-stop and what to do depends on what kind of machine you have. Generally you want the E-stop to cut power to the machine. You should NOT rely on the software for E-stop control, you should hardwire the E-stop switch, generally thru a relay or contactor so it cuts power to the machine. Then you can use a second contact to "inform" Mach3 that you have E-stoped.
