I hope that I'm in the right forum... (just registered, and snooping about...) I have posted a web-site on a 3 Axis Foam mill, and currently working on a larger more rigid version that can work clear pine and other softwoods... http://www.theworkshop.ca/machining/machining.htm I realise that "Foam Cutters" are as low on the CNC-Food Chain as one gets, but for metal casting patterns I don't need much more...

| Wow there is some sort of amazing paradox going on, you are making machines using castings that are made with patterns made by the machines that were made by them. Deep! Graham p.s. My first ever cuts were in foam, I like it and as I also build micro model aircraft I use it a lot. The one problem is when I cut blue foam I tend to end up staring at the machine intently (as it is going quite fast and you can wait for it) and by the end of the milling process I look like a smurf! |

I can relate to getting drawn into the machines movements... I can't wait till I have 3 mills all cranking out patterns while I sit back and drink beer, smug with the knowledge that I'm actually working (and damn hard at that!!!) Cheers...
