Newbie Are these Acme screws good to use? - CNCzone.com-The Largest Machinist Community on the net!

Im thinking of buying my acme screws from this business, PRECISIONTECHMACHINING.COM and I just want to make sure this is the right type of acme screw. Also what stepper motors are recommended for these type acme screws. This business also sells on ebay.

I was going with 72", 48", and 18" and was quoted $130w/shipping. These also come with Delrin nut.

I BOUGHT A FEW FROM HIM. the ends where not turned down to the correct size, and they had a bend in them, one in a 9" piece. i got my new ons from mcmaster and have been more then happy. just buy a normal one, use a 1/2" bearing and lovjoy, as the screw turned down to 1/4" is waste since you can use a love joy to go from 1/2" to the 1/4" of the motor
