CncForMe is on a distinguished road
Someone correct me if I am wrong about my new router table

So the question is about whether to buy steppers or servos for my new table and I have already read plenty on both. But I would like to run my thoughts by those here amongst more experienced CNCers. It seems I can buy on eBay some very nice looking used Mitsubishi AC servo drivers and matched motors on eBay for around the same cost as going with gecko drives and steppers. fficeffice" />>>

I would really like servo for speed and positional ability although I have nothing against steppers on my tormach they work great all the time every time. So what would you do? My table is 4 'x 10' and is going to be used for plasma and routing. Not planning to use this thing on an industrial demand level everyday, don't have the business for that yet... >>

I am leaning towards the servos it seems to me like a great deal. 3 phase ac anything to me is awesome, highly efficient and no brushes. I have a big table plus 10 feet so to get some decent speed it makes since in my mind to go servo. But tell me what I am missing a gecko drive peaks out at 7 amps 80 volts which should make 560 watts of punch and the servos I am looking at put out 400 watts. But can you compare them that way so simply? Big bonus for the ac servos is the drive accepts straight 220v AC power no transformer power supply necessary. Can I just plug in the AC servo drives to a standard breakout board and run Mach 3 or is it more complex than that? Planning to use a rack a pinion dual driven gantry and here are some pictures of the progress to date. Thanks in advance.
The photos are to big plaese go to PhiladelphiaMachineWorks.com to see the table thanks.
