my DIY CNC progress in reverse

hi,
I've been meaning to post images of
my completely built homemade CNC router,
but my video capture card started to misbehave.
Now that I'm starting to disassemble it, I just realized
that I have cheapie camera dangling on my USB port that
I used for running turboCNC in DOS, it
was too late I already took the X & Z axis apart.
here's the images and a reverse S (I like Superman) a proof that it worked
and a piece of round wood with number carved in it.
Posting these probably doesn't make sense, but once
again I proved that if things could be done I could (probably) do
it, just not necessarily mean as good and as fast.
it was actually a great learning experience being able to built it
with just a hacksaw and a drill (and occational drill press use),
imagine if I actually had the right tools (and materials).
I'll make a smaller better one next year, the footprint of what
I built (X36" Y about 41") was dictated by materials I gathered
(without knowing actual specifications i.e. ballscrews).

Very impressive, I like your belief! Finally, it looks like you really can get some useful info from the web, just need to find the right sites. I'm planning to build my own, and money isn't really an issue, I just want something which can bring my ideas in wood and stone to life. Your post has given me added confidence, because I also believe if it can be done, I can probably do it! Good luck with the next project! Mícheál.
