Need Help!- Router build questions. OPINIONS WANTED!

Hello Cnczone Community,

This is my first post here on the site. Nothing like your first time.

I've recently purchased plans for a cnc router that is designed around a Xylotex system(or equivalent). I already have a Xylotex package so I'll be using that.

Starting in January a friend of mine and I are going to pool our resources and build a couple of machines simultaneously. I'll probably post it as a build thread here once we start.

When the router is completed I plan to build a second machine with a much larger cutting envelope. I would like to increase the motor size compared to the Nema23 steppers that I'll be using on the first router.

Please suggest 3 axis cnc packages for larger machines. I'm an electronic idiot so I'd like to purchase something as a complete kit if possible. If you have suggestions for different motor, driver combinations, etc. I'd welcome those as well. I've tried to read as much as I can about the electronics but I need help.

How big are you planning for the second machine? I built my 1st machine to cut 18" in the y axis, 50" in the x axis and 6" Z. Other then a few signs for fun, it pays for itself just using a 12" by 12" area! I could have saved a bundle and made it smaller! I used 380 oz steppers with gecko 203V drivers and a CNC4PC BOB.
