| The more i reed the more confused i get... I have a friend that haze a gdz-65-800 (800w) spindle that he both with the machine that is a 300x200 Chinese engraver. He is working this machine in all materials from aircraft grade aluminum to glass and carbon fiber for 5 years with a work rate of 7-8 hours a day. Wen he got the machine the Chinese guy ask-t him of he wood pay more fore "German Imported Bearings" He did pay 200$ more. I am not shore if he haze The German made in China bearings or some German NSk, SKF or something else. I tried to find a motor that loks like hies: same finish, materials, number of screws, shape, engraved motor number,colors... NOTHING Meany sellers claim ther motors are "GDZ" made by Qian Cheng or something but neither looks the same. I am getting third of searching the Internet for the best cheep Chinese spindle i think it rely is a thing of luck and weather the Chinese guy that is selling it head a good day and is willing to send you what you payed four. So: Have any of you goth a 2.2 Kw water cooled spindle that looks as this one and has got 4 bearings working for a longer period of time eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices Not necessarily from solar.jean ? I think this wood be better then what Chai is selling because it has 4 bearings. Any Other Ideas ? |

| "Germany Bearings" are many by a company called "Germany" which is IN China. It's a scam. Some people have had problems with the 2.2KW spindle bearings. Many have had no problems. I suspect that the problems people have had with the bearings do NOT originate in the quality of the bearings themselves. Rather, they were installed misaligned, which promptly causes failure. They could be the best NASA-designed space bearings made out of Unobtanium-alloy ever designed, but any bearing run misaligned is destined for a very short service life. The bearings ARE replaceable. You can go full ceramic if you really want (although no one, to my knowledge, has done so). You will need a bearing press. All we know is that Chai (linearmotionbearings2008) SEEMS to be selling good stuff. Same price or less than anyone else. Keep in mind that there aren't many solid alternatives here! I mean, KelingInc sells a 2.2KW spindle for $359 + shipping- a lot more- but oh wait, isn't that the EXACT same Chinese spindle?? How is that any different? They claim it's got genuine NSK bearings- but so does everyone else. Well, if a Chinese seller provides these with bearings marked "NSK", they're technically in the clear advertising them as such. But counterfeit NSKs are VERY common. In fact, IIRC, the price on a set of genuine high-speed NSKs is higher than the spindle costs anyways, so yeah, they're counterfeit. There are a few other spindle sellers in the US. You'll pay out the nose on some, with no material guarantee that it's a better product. Frankly, I know $300 is a lot to ALL of us, but you gotta accept the reality: maybe it does have a 10% chance of being a worthless, irreparable lemon. That monetizes out to all of $30. Or you can go to an industrial supplier and pay $2000 for a spindle, but that's hardly a low-cost option. You just gotta accept- maybe you'll be unlucky and get crap. The adult thing to do- solid decision-making- is to be prepared to just call it a loss and buy another one if the seller can't give you a decent return policy. It's like, you can't afford $15,000 for a new car, so you gotta buy a used one on Craigslist for $1000. You can inspect it all you want but life comes with no guarantee it won't seize in a month, it's a waste of time to expect the Craigslist guy to give you your money back, and you'll just have to bite the bullet, sell it for scrap, and buy another used car somehow. It's STILL a good deal, even not knowing for sure if it'll work. Don't waste time crying about it and don't procrastinate on acquiring it because the situation will be the same situation tomorrow as it is today. Last edited by MechanoMan; 02-16-2012 at 11:01 PM. |

Shows a spindle from linearmotionbearings2008 disassembled. It appears to have 2 double-loaded angular contact bearings in front and one deepgroove in back, which is correct. I don't see how you'd even use 4 bearings. A double-loaded angular contact bearing tightly holds against axial movement and bears the thrust load as it drives into the material (or tries to withdraw a turning drill bit, which makes a force pulling downward on the shaft). The rear deepgroove should ideally be slightly loose on the shaft so the shaft won't push or pull on the bearing. Deepgroves do not handle significant thrust loads. If the fit is too tight, pressure could be built into that rear bearing which will wear it out prematurely. Or thermal expansion or material flexing under load can create stress. I just don't see the purpose of a FOURTH bearing there. |

| PM LinearMotionBearings2008 for the 2.2KW alone, it was $297 including shipping when I bought mine, which makes him very cheap. Then get a 3HP 220v Hitachi X200 VFD, from DrivesWarehouse.com or wherever (note X200 comes in lower HP versions, but be sure to get the 3HP=2.2KW one). |

| Everything received and installed , control via modbus with Mach3 , work great, But i did not expect that it would be a lot heavier than the porter cable router , so i had to reduce rapid speed on my joe2006 cnc !!! i'll have to find a way to counter weight that spindle !!! |

| I was stupid enough to buy a spindle only from him outside of ebay and what I got (after more than a month of "have you sent it yet?" emails) was an absolute PoS. The nut was tightened so hard the collet was deformed. The nut had 8 holes drilled in it to balance it - it looks like the spindle+collet+nut was what was balanced. When I tried running it without the nut and collet, it made the bench dance around the workshop. And no replies and no recourse when it failed. |

| Boy that stinks! I bought a spindle from them about a year ago. The collet had the balancing hole drilled in it but it spun just fine with it off. I thought the holes were for balancing the collet itself. Our spindle is still going strong, in fact we ran it all day today (8 hrs) with no water circulation! It got warm but didn't get hot.
