Hi, I'm really confuse with this, I read the manuals and the videos but can't solve it. 1)My lead screw are: 1/2-10 ACME Lead Screw http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=330287884711 2)Micro step is set to 1/4 in drivers 3)Motors are NEMA 23 4)The motor is are directly coupled to the lead screw which "Steps per" I should use in mach 3? ![]() Should I use Inches instead of mm in the "Default Units" becasue of my setup? Many Thanks |

10tpi x 200 step per rev of the motor = 2000full steps/inch. x 4 (1/4 steps) = 8000 1/4steps/inch. divided by 25.4 mm/inch = 314.96062992125984251968503937008 steps/mm If my math is right, and I am sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong. There is also a utility in Mach3 that says input a distance and then measure how far it actually went. It calculates the proper steps for you. It is under one of the set up tabs but I can't remember which at the moment.

| Very good! Now you need to measure the ACTUAL axis travel vs the travel that Mach indicates. If these are not equal, (due to mechanical inaccuracies) then you will need to tweak the steps up or down slightly. UP if distance traveled is LESS than indicated, DOWN if distance is MORE. CR. |
