OK i just recieved my plans to start building my 2' x 4' rack and pinion cnc router. I plan on using a 2.25 hp router to cut 3/4" MDF for speaker boxes. I do not know what size stepper to buy. looking on probotix they have kits that vary from 260 oz up to 400oz, or combinations of them. i want to buy the best, but not waist money. i was thinking the 400 oz for x and y, and the 300 for the z? also, are those good controlers, there is a 20$ upgrade on thier controler. Also, on hobbycnc they have the boards you put together. is that a good way to save moeny, as my best friend is a electrical enginerer, so its in my ability. SO, basically, i need to know what the best bet on steppers and controlers is for the money, and what size steppers i really need |

| If you want the best, buy Gecko's. The Gecko G540 is a better 4 axis drive than the Hobbycnc and Probotix. What size motors do the plans recommend?

| I LOOK SLIKE ITS SOMEWHERE IN THE 260 RANGE, BUT I CANT GET A EXACT MODEL. I just dont want to buy to small and wish i had larger, yet dont want ones that are to big to mount easily ( thif stronger ones are larger, they looked longer) |
