Ok as a newbie I appologize for this question it may be stupid but thought I would ask. Is there any CNC Router plans Using 8020 I was going to have my framework machine locally however the machinist flaked out on me. I am wanting to build a Gantry Setup Cutting Capacity needs to be 36" x 18 or 24" with a z axis clearance 6-8" I have purchased a 4 axis Controller and Steppers and 1/2x10 Acme Lead Screws and hard ware in 48", 24" and 12". I was about to order rails and bearings but wanted to ensure what I order fits the design of the frame work. This is going to be used as a pool cue inlay cnc machine. I am tired of the manual pantograph method and want to be able to be more creative in my designs. Sice my machinist said he does not have tome I figured 8020 but would like to find some plans I could modify to fit my needs. I am willing to pay for plans if needed. ANyway ANY help or direction is appreciated. Budget is SUB $3000 if possible on entire build I am already down $750 in lead screws and hardware and controller and steppers |

| There are a couple of 80/20 units here in the members gallery. The nice thing about the stuff -- it goes together so easily and you can reconfigure it too. I have a few pics of my 80/20 setup in the gallery (look for "System2"). Also another member - Ahren has some bits and pieces he has developed and sells for the 80/20 gear. You might search on his name and check out his website. Hey! Welcome aboard too. Jim

| gunlocators, Welcome to the zone! You might check out my thread in the product announcement section for some ideas on 8020 machines. My "kit" plans are almost ready, but they still need some work to create assembly drawings, etc. I'll be giving them away once they are done. Another member, solodex, also has a set of plans I believe he is getting ready to sell for 8020 machines. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48749 Best regards, Ahren www.cncrouterparts.com |
