Precision Collets for Porter Cable

I'm starting this thread to let people know about a new product from Think and Tinker a.k.a. Precsion Bits. They are a precision collet system for Porter Cable Routers which turn them into a very accurate spindle. It's based on the ER Collet System. Below is the link to the thread that Think and Tinker Started in Product Announcement, but I thought it would get more play here. Plus I'm going to be doing a full review of them this Monday. So far I've done some preliminary testing and this is what I've posted in the other thread, but I've added the pics.

Original Thread: Precision Collets for Porter-Cable Routers

"I got my set and I'm going to do a whole review this weekend. So far I've lightly placed my porter cable in my Bridgeport vice, I just used a very light finger pressure to close the vice as to not distort the router body. I measured the runout on the inside of the porter cable, the part the collet goes into. I measured at 4 different spots going from near the rim I got .00105", .00095, .000925 and .00095. Oh, and this Porter Cable is fairly new with very little use. I then chucked up, or should I say Up Chucked?, an 1/8" bit from Precision Bits a.k.a. Think and Tinker, and measured the runout on the shaft of the actual bit, I did this with a few different bits, and all bits were new. I got a range from .001025 - .000875. When I got these collets John at Think and Tinker said they got results better that what they had measured on the inside of the porter cable I too got better than that too. They are very well made and come packed with their special lubrication spindle sauce and you can see where they actually balanced the collet nut for low vibration. I would definately recommend these. I will do a further review on Monday when I take my Bosch out of my CNC and test it's runout after having it about 4 months or so. I did an initial review of my bosch when I firt got it but now it's had time to break in so we'll see how it's held up."

In the 4th picture it shows the offset ring in the bottom of the collet nut. What you have to do is take a collet and tilt it in until it snaps in place. If you've used ER Collets I believe it's the same thing.

I did some more tests today on the CNC it's self. It performed beautifuly. The fact that my Porter Cable and Bosch have the same body size and my mount allows for virtually no setup, just drop in and go, allows me to almost use it like a ATC. I can have a 1/16" bit in the Bosch and rough out my pockets then drop in the PC with the .0156 bit to clean up the pockets.
