I have autocad 2009 and pro desktop and have tried saving a 2d drawing of a shape in autocad to DXF format so i could import it to Kcam but all i get is a green and a blue line stretching off the page, how can i get my shape to appear in the middle of the work area? I want to know how i do it before i start building my cnc milling table which i aim to have a 40cm x 40cm work top using a 'generic rotary tool' . Call me a noob, its my first post thanks if you can help |

| There should be an icon above the work area that would view that part full screen or something to that effect. I use Turbocad, which is similar. That may be the source of your trouble. Also make sure you are in model space rather than paper.

Hi, I am having the same problem viewing my imported dxf file from autocad. I drew a simple 3d part as a test of a flat 1" thick piece with 4 rectangular pockets. One of them is .5" deep and the other three are all of the way through. I imported the dxf into kcam and have a blank grid on the screen. Any input? |
