Need Help!- Screw doesn't fit bearing

I bought a half inch OD 2 start screw from McMaster with a black oxide finish.

I bought some half inch ID bearings from VXB.

Seems the screws don't want to fit in the bearings unless I pound the crap out of them.

Does the black oxide finish add to the diameter of the screw? Should I sand this off first?

Pounding bearings on is very bad for them. Lightly sand the screw and they should slide right on.

You could probably get away with a green brillow pad. Like ger said pounding is never good.

Wound up cutting the screw to get the bearing off. Luckily I had some room to play with along with extra bearings.

put the screw in my drill... wrapped it with 400 grit, bearing slides on great now.
