I am rounding up parts for my first machine. I just was wondering is brass bushings better to use for the Z axis or is ball bearing bushings. I am making a 12" Z. Any ideas would be appreciated. thanks. |

| Bearings are less susceptable to binding. Either way, the two shafts need to be perfectly parallel to prevent binding. I'd use ball bushings, but you must use hardened shafts with them.
