this is not for a cnc but a special project that will require motion in opposing directions from the same leadscrew so i figure i will have to make my own.
i see a way to make the nuts from derlin, but i wonder how to make the lead screws? is there a special die that i need. Looking to make 3/8 - 6 leadscrews.

I see lot's of taps but no dies! Is it possible to form the acme thread by a die? I know not...I see some nifty tools for thread forming on the lathe though here hth
