my budget is around £1000 and I would like to build a 3-d cnc because I would be design prototypes of products of all kinds of shape.

My thoughts on building your own machine
Pros
  1. Less expensive
  2. Know your machine intimately
  3. Designed to do exactly what you want
Cons
  1. Success depends on your skill and experience
  2. Could take longer
  3. It could blow up in your face
You've got to determine a comfortable risk/benefit ratio for yourself. If possible, building your own will just elevate mankinds' IQ as a whole.

thinking of buying

Thanks for replying, I am thinking of buying cause I don't have the time to build one, do you know of any good desktop machine, I would it:

1. Must cut 3d
2. must be accurate
3.cnc cutting area around 60 cm by 45 cm
4. My budget is £1200 ($2400)

I would like to buy one but I would pay to have someone build one for me.
And by the way can I use a cnc from the U.S in the U.K.
