I built a 17X20 overhead leadscrew CNC machine out of plywood following the plans from Solsylva. Is it possible to build the same kind of machine out of aluminum framing such as 80/20 and TSlots?

yeah it would be fairly simple to build a machine of that design out of aluminum 80/20, solid rectangle, or tubing. If you have the tools I would opt to make the frame out of steel tubing.
